Stoke Space selected for the U.S. Space Force’s $5.6B NSSL program
Kent, Washington, March 27, 2025 – The United States Space Force has selected Stoke Space to participate in its National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Phase 3 Lane 1 program, designed to expand its capacity to deliver critical space launch capabilities. The award enables Stoke to compete for a total of $5.6B in national security launch contracts using its 100% reusable Nova rocket.
The NSSL award is a firm fixed-price, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, which includes an ordering period that goes through June 2029, with an option for an additional ordering period of five years. As part of the NSSL program, Stoke will receive a $5 million task order to conduct an initial capabilities assessment and develop an approach to tailored mission assurance.
Nova is Stoke’s medium-lift, 100% reusable two-stage rocket. Its fully reusable upper-stage vehicle is designed to provide on-demand access to any orbit at any time, which will enable dynamic space operations that include capture, reposition, long-dwell, and return-of-assets operations.
Stoke’s selection for this program is a testament to the company’s technical capabilities to meet the U.S. Space Force’s most stringent requirements. With this award, Stoke becomes one of only five launch companies chosen to support the Space Force’s most critical national security missions.
